The Canberra Balloon Spectacular is listed as one of the top four hot air ballooning events in the world. Join us this March as the festival celebrates its 28th year.
The event is one of a kind and one of the few places in the world where hot air balloons can fly so close to houses of government and buildings of national significance.
There is truly no better way to start each cool Canberra Autumn morning than by participating in the Balloon Spectacular. Held over nine days, pilots will begin laying out and inflating their balloons from 6.00am daily on the lawns of Old Parliament House before they ascend into the sky to create an exhilarating back drop to our national attractions within the Parliamentary Zone.
Joining the 2014 Canberra Balloon Spectacular will be special shapes from across the globe who will fill the Canberra sky each day. Patrons will be treated to an experience of the senses with a flurry of colour, sound and movement, but not just in the air. On the ground the balloon field will be abuzz with local, live entertainment each morning, completely complementing delicious hot breakfast provided by the Belconnen Lions Club.
Please note: Ballooning is completely weather dependent and some activities may be delayed or cancelled as a result. The decision to fly will be made from 6am daily and patrons are encouraged to call Canberra Connect, follow us on Facebook and Twitter or tune into local radio stations for information on the event daily.
