2017 Canberra International Film Festival

The 2017 program is an exciting blend of retrospective and contemporary programming, offering some of the world’s best cinema, past and present, emphasising new works from Australia and Asia, and providing a proud national platform for Canberra’s own filmmakers.

CIFF has always had a retrospective component, but this year, it is greatly expanded and fills over half of the Festival’s sessions.

CIFF will continue to serve as a platform for the work of Canberra’s filmmakers, but in 2017 we have the added strategy of looking at past as well as present achievements.

This year’s Festival program has been curated by two local film experts – Andrew Pike (aka Mr Electric Shadows) and Alice Taylor (2016 CIFF director).

This is an exciting and eclectic collection of films showing this year at Canberra’s very own Arc Cinema at the National Film and Sound Archive.
