Hurly Burley Winter Fair

Celebrate winter with the Hurly Burley Winter Fair. Enjoy delicious locally made food to warm the belly. Browse the marketplace to the sound of live music. Discover stunning sculptures under a sea of fairy lights. Perfect the art of roasting marshmallows over a fire pit. Remember to rug up warm and head down for a memorable evening.

Held Friday 30 June at Hobart Place from 4pm to 9pm.

Cyrano de Bergerac

Cyrano de Bergerac is the play that brought the word ‘panache’ into the English language. An original and finely crafted romantic comedy; this is the tale of the beautiful Roxanne and the man who would love her, but for his outrageous nose.

Held Wednesday 28 June to Saturday 1 July. Times vary.

The Forage

The Forage is a showcase of street food by our local cafes, food trucks, wineries and breweries. Our mission is to give our local businesses an opportunity to get creative and showcase and feed our community in a festival style environment. Bringing everyone together in one location, gives our Canberra community an opportunity to sample what is happening in our foodie city.

Held Saturday 1 July at The Little National from 2pm to 7pm.

AfterDARK Firefly Lantern Tour

Experience the sights, sounds and smells of the Australian National Botanic Gardens' native Australian flora by night.Start the evening with a delicious hot chocolate before trying your hand at lantern making.Your tour leader will then take you on a fascinating after dark discovery of the Gardens using your 'firefly lantern light' to help guide the way.

Held Saturday evenings from 1 July to 12 August. Times vary.

Dinosaurs in the Gardens

They're back! Dinosaur herds, ancient petrified wood, living fossil plants and flying winged creatures will be on display throughout the Botanic Gardens.Step back in time and become an intrepid explorer. Remember to keep an eye out for dinosaur footprints as you set off on your adventure.

Held Saturday 1 July to Sunday 16 July at the Australian National Botanic Gardens. Times vary.

Raiders v Cowboys

Since their premiership breakthrough in 2015, the North Queensland Cowboys have been one of the benchmark teams in the NRL. With a plethora of representative players in their side, this rugby league game against the Raiders is shaping up as one of the biggest of the year.

Held Saturday 1 July at GIO Stadium from 7:30pm.

Skating At Canberra

Garema Place will be transformed into a winter wonderland featuring an ice rink, a giant ice slide, jumping castle and a giant inflatable slide. Superhero Masterclass at MoAD

Do you enjoy wearing capes? Are you good at helping people? Discover your inner superhero in our hands-on workshop. Design and make your own superhero costumes out of recycled materials, then you will be ready to save the world! Once you have discovered your super powers, try them out with our Superhero museum trail!

Held Monday 3 July to Friday 7 July at the Museum of Australian Democracy from 9:30am to 11am.

The Truffle Festival

Indulge in a feast of the senses with The Truffle Festival. Taste and experience the magic of these highly-prized gems. Join a hunt and see for yourself how talented dogs unearth truffles. Learn from chefs and other truffle experts at a cooking class, or pop along to a market and pick up some truffle delights for yourself.

We can’t wait for a truffle infused winter weekend at Mount Majura Vineyard. Can you imagine anything better than truffles, wine and cheese?

Held from Thursday 1 June to Thursday 31 August 2017 at various locations in the Canberra region.
